Plastic shit

It seems most of what is moving through the postal systems is plastic shit, tat, whatever you’d like to call it.

Amazon has released their ‘Haul’ product; Temu, AliExpress and Shein are at the height of their popularity.

Why do people love little plastic crap so much?

Most of this stuff is barely even bought for use. It’s bought as a little performance of getting your life together. The object is just the receipt.

Ashens, a popular YouTuber, reviews many of these products. It genuinely blows my mind to see how much absolutely useless crap is being moved around globally — things like mop holders and so on.

Sherry Ning’s ‘You’re overspending because you lack values’ blogpost summarises it perfectly. Its takeaway is ‘Overconsumption is a spiritual problem, not a money problem’, which I fully agree with.

People’s lives are completely empty; it’s quite sad.
